El Greco Studios

I have always had a passion for sculpting since my childhood years. But it was only about 6 years ago, that this passion became a reality. I bought several model figures from El Viejo Dragon and I was hooked - not to paint them but to admire the sculpting details.

My main focus of interest is the Classical/Hellenistic period and the French-Indian Wars although I tackle any subject that piques my interest - from Japanese Samurai to Scottish Highlanders. I also have a keen interest in fantasy subjects, both figures and busts. Moreover I am a keen follower of 28mm wargaming figures, both historical and fantasy and enjoy converting these smaller armies.

Over the past two years, we have developed our own range of products and released a number of figures and busts, several of which were sculpted by myself. My aim is always to be innovative and tackle unusual subjects. My strongest point is busts where I can focus intensely on the facial features, giving expressiveness and personality to the character.

I work mainly using Magic Sculp as my main medium. I also regularly use a mix of Magic Sculp and ProCreate, depending on the complexity of the subject. Different putties can produce a variety of finishes, with some allowing greater detail and better working time.

Besides producing figures for general release, I also work on commission pieces, whereby I create one-off pieces for collectors or modellers. The finished piece is then presented as a master or else as a painted model, in collaboration with one of the painters listed below.

The idea of a scratch-built piece is a service which offers a more personal experience between the sculptor, painter and the collector. They allow a better flow of creativity, since there are fewer constraints technically (since I would not have to worry about the casting process). This personally suits my sculpting style.

I can promise you reasonably quoted prices, all dependent on subject and detail required. Prices will vary depending whether the subject is a one-off scratch-built painted piece, or a master for commercial release.
