Lin Chong is an important character from one of the four great Chinese classic novels called The Story by the Water Margin. He was honest, intrepid and chivalrous, highly skilled in military drill, and spear was his most favourite weapon. He used to be the coach of the Imperial Army, commanding 800 thousand soldiers. But as the local officials persecuted him, he was finally driven to join the Liangshan rebels (a band of peasant rebels of the Song Dynasty, who had their stronghold on Liangshan Mountain). He helped to win many wars there, and was known as a hero.
