Update on Royal Mail Strike Actions

Royal Mail Strike Update

Royal Mail have announced additional strike days throughout various divisions in the postal network.

We will do our utmost to post parcels as early as possible prior to a strike day. If we notice that a strike day will be on a Friday or Monday, we shall only post items on the next day after strike action. We will do this in order to avoid that parcels are left idle in a Royal Mail depot for 3/4 days as this increases the risk of delay or loss.

The following is the official update announcement on the Royal Mail page:

National strike action dates formally notified by the CWU:

The CWU has formally notified Royal Mail they plan to call on their members who collect, sort and deliver parcels and letters to take national strike action on:

  • Friday 9 December,
  • Sunday 11 December,
  • Wednesday 14 December
  • Thursday 15 December
  • Friday 23 December
  • Saturday 24 December

Royal Mail has well-developed contingency plans, but we cannot fully replace the daily efforts of our frontline workforce. We’ll be doing what we can to keep services running, but we are sorry this planned strike action is likely to cause you some disruption.

  • On days when strike action is taking place:
  • We will deliver as many Special Delivery and Tracked24 parcels as possible
