1:16 scale resin bust. Sculpted by Eduard Pérez. Boxart by Fernando Ruiz. Kit includes: 1 piece.

During the American Civil War, regimental musicians had several different duties. The main one was to transmit orders and mark the start of the diverse routine tasks of the soldiers with certain calls that all soldiers were expected to know. Besides that, they also helped the medical staff and helped burying the casualties.

During the long marches, the musicians played hymns and songs to boost the morale and fight the tedious long trips on foot across the country. Also, when not on duty, they played all sorts of popular songs, as they have been doing since the start of mankind’s history. During the North against the South conflict, more than two thousand war songs were composed. Music had such a close relationship with soldiers that general Robert E. Lee once declared “I don’t believe we can have an army without music”.

Confederacy musicians followed no standard uniform regulation as the Union ones. As each state was able to issue uniforms, the musicians wore specific ones depending on their state.

This bust wears a model of jacket that still survives in the Confederacy Museum at Richmond. Its color is butternut with black lace and eight brass frontal buttons.
